Founded in 1940 with the purpose of anticipating community needs, HMC aims to create designs that have a positive impact, now and into the future. We focus primarily on opportunities that have the most direct contribution to communities—through healthcare, education, and civic spaces. Sustainability—the integration of social, economic, and environmental value—is inherent to these values. Our Climate Action Plan outlines strategies to measure, plan, and reduce our footprint to achieve carbon neutrality within a decade. By eliminating carbon emissions and reducing energy demand, we can make positive changes for the human condition, society and overall better health.
